Our Past

Pasta Mia: A True Italian Heritage

Pasta Mia products are a natural and inspired result of the Italian heritage of the company. Pasta Mia founder Diego Mazza came from Northern Italy in 1980 with a dream of introducing the American market to the authentic Italian pastas that he had eaten in Italy. Diego grew up experiencing the best of Italian cooking rooted in the traditions of the Italian countryside. He watched his grandmother, Nonna Nina, prepare delicious meals and homemade ravioli, and ate the wonderful results.

This treasured experience instilled in him a deep appreciation for the natural flavors of real Italian food. As a young man, Diego traveled extensively from the Italian Alps to the southern tip of Italy, sampling and learning about the incredibly varied pastas and recipes of all the regions of the country. He brought this passion and respect for Italian cuisine to his products when he opened Pasta Mia in the US in 1984.

Today, Pasta Mia products are an authentic representation of these rich Italian culinary traditions.

Our Future

Bringing Fresh Italian-Style Pasta to American Diners

From a small shop opened in 1984 with only two small pasta-making machines, to today's state of the art facility, Diego Mazza and his staff have poured their passion for Italian cuisine into every product. Pasta Mia clients bring an authentic experience of Italian cuisine to their customers with our unique Italian pasta products.

In our test kitchen we develop new and unique recipes in partnership with our customers in the restaurant and food service business that keep their diners asking for more.
